    I agree the price is really high, but for piece of mind it is worth every penny. My wife and I are both 79 years old, and we did with a portable generator for years, and like everyone we had the hassle of trying to find fuel for extended outage, not fun. Also no central air, not live able in florida without it. Yes a portable generator is cheaper if you like all the hassle. Not for us anymore. Just spend the money and try to enjoy your life, you only live once.

      Yes for people of your age it would make sense to have a generac system if you can afford it.

    Yea theyre creating a residual income by designing it to break down sooner therefore people got to come back to purchase another one. Landfills over running. Most people throw it away because its not cost effective to repair things. Products are cheaper to buy another one instead of repairing it..

    In my opinion: You may want to sell off that Dodge van. Looks like a 3.6L Pinstar Italian collaboration engine. Their oil filter housing loves to crack being plastic & the rocker needle bearing go bad around 78K miles or so making their iconic "Pinstar tick" noise. The Italian investors pulled out of the US market because of all the problems that followed all their Dodge, Chrysler & Mopar engines. Pretty hard to tell Charger & Challenger fans their hemispherical engines are crap no matter how many times their oil filter housing splits open. Typically you have to replace rockers & cams on Pinstar engines & shouldn't ever follow the manufacturer's 5W-20 (Ford engineered oil) engine oil specification. Go with 10W-30. 5W-20 isn't used world wide mind you for obvious reasons. It runs off parts down in the pan & evaporates quicker than 10W-30 or 10W-40.

    • @Bbernhardsr
      @Bbernhardsr 6 днів тому

      Thanks but I like my Pentastar. I replaced the rockers myself with Melling units around 140K. My oil filter housing never split because I never tightened it down like a Neanderthal. The heat finally warped it around 180K and I replaced it with an all aluminum unit. It transfers heat better than the plastic unit. She runs great with 207K on the clock and running great. I use the 5W-20 regular non synthetic and replace it every 5K.

    My Lt1000 with same engine, does the same thing. Fuel starts boiling inside the fuel line and filter goes empty when tank is below halfway. Ethanol fuel has a lower boiling point temperature, so this aggravates the condition when it gets hot outside.

      Any low side pressure below 22 psi will close the cycling switch causing the compressor to turn off. If you are having gauge readings of 15 psi and the compressor is still on then you definitely have a bad low side cycling switch.

The fuel consumption numbers came directly from generac's own website. The cost of propane came directly from our local propane supplier. So how in the world you can assume this is speculative is beyond me. If the prices are different for you then congratulations that is wonderful for you, but don't come on my channel and say my information is questionable. Those cameras have to have the monitor that receives the video signal and it looks like you can link it to your computer for recording, but the manufacturer did not mention anything of being able to stream on the internet. If you are looking for cameras that stream to your phone there are much better options nowadays I can post a link to some off Amazon that I find to be very good and reliable. • @Bbernhardsr
      @Bbernhardsr Місяць тому

      Unfortunately this video was made many years ago. But that's okay because if you watch the video you can see how far I had to take the steering column apart to get full access to that passlock sensor. You have to take the whole plastic cover off around the housing you have to pull the steering wheel you have to pull your clock spring for your airbag. You have to take the turn signal switch out. And then if I remember right as you can see in the video there are two Torx bolts if I remember right once you pull those two bolts then the housing comes loose. You don't replace the sensor itself it's a whole aluminum housing with the sensor built-in that gets replaced.

      @Bbernhardsr yeah..I followed your link to rock auto and found the Dorman part #. We bought a 99 k1500 suburban in 2000. Problem/ no start showed maybe 5 years ago. 1st time Problem showed up, fuel pump replaced. Have a place at Myrtle Beach. Drove there..unloaded , half hour later got in it to go somewhere and no start. 1st thing I thought was fuel pump. Went to tool shed for something to tap bottom of tank as wife tried to start. Before I could tap, it fired up and didn't have the problem again until the next years Beach trip. Next year, drove to Beach and parked in the exact same place in the yard..unloaded and got ready to go somewhere..no start ! This time I had it towed to blacks auto, a popular shop, who had it for 2 days and called to say we can't find anything wrong 🤔 They said it cranks every time for us. Asked me if I had a chipped key..nope. That was probably 3 years ago. Had a no start last year and took to chevy dealership who tested and gave me a part number for the 'pass lock sensor ' and a part # for the ignition module. Said they couldn't get the parts tho. I know from research that you generally can wait with the ignition to 'on' position for a while and the security light will go out. I've found that I can SLOWLY rotate the ignition switch towards the point of the starter bump..watch my guage/ security light. The ABS and Parking brake lights come on and security light goes off..I rotate the rest of way to the point the starter engages..it starts every time or has so far. The no start happened this time a day after I did a full tune up ..cap , rotor, plugs and wires. Last week . I'm ready to try replacing the pass key sensor or pay somebody. I'm hoping all this i've typed will help a person caught out somewhere with a no start situation and save them $$ and stress . **I'd suggest anybody reading this to try slowly rotating the switch till you feel resistance..then stopping..rotate a little more then stop..so on, to see if the security light goes off. At this point finish rotating till starter engages. Thanks for the quick reply sir.

    Lol thanks for sharing. But when in 100 years have we had to look for brake moisture? You only look for debri from the lines or ect in the reservoir. Normally pretty noticable. Thats only time to flush unless. You change lines n fittings. You are right

    • @Bbernhardsr
      @Bbernhardsr Місяць тому

      That's all I ever did my whole life. If it is dirty then change it. I have only heard about moisture in brake fluid in the last year so I had to see what it was about.

    • @opinionsvary
      @opinionsvary 6 днів тому

      In my opinion: Break fluid typically is designed to have a wet boiling point along with a dry one. Highly unlikely to have "totally dry fluid" because all containers develop condensation from temperature differences in & outside the can/bottle. Also the master cylinder vents so moisture will always like to hang out at the port. Break fluid absorbs moisture to maintain the optimal boiling point for normal conditions. When you break, latent heat enters the fluid & can boil it into a gas vapor making your pedal spongy causing break fade. This probably is why the fluid should be changed in addition to the colloidal copper ions building up from the electrolysis of having bronze or copper banjo crush washers on the hoses. Ideally honest organizations like Firestone would say it's the additive pack failure that causes break fluid to go bad - not the mythical moisture hysteria. So copper test strips test the copper content to make change determinations - not moisture readings. Have to understand the master cylinder reservoir will usually have the highest moisture read being the reservoir has an atmosphere of air that is vented to the outside engine bay. Moisture is relevant during start ups. Basically, if your pedal feels squishy, you should bleed out the old fluid because it probably contains fluid vapor form latent heat break down. Or if you fail on a copper test strip. I trust Firestone more than any SAE certified educated idiot passing off as an auto technician simply because you won't find an ISO moisture recommendation for replacement on any break fluid. ISO is what you should base determinations on. For example: The oily layered glaze (washable) air filters that largely reduce static manifold pressure in order to get higher fuel economy, even though they fail all ISO tests, they can be extremely dangerous for lane changes when static manifold pressure helps prevent stalling** caused by the sudden opening of the throttle blade. Another critical problem is they do not filter silica* that contaminates oil & wet sands piston rings & valve guides. It also shortens the life of all engine oil regardless of being synthetic or not much earlier than running a basic pleated fiber paper air filter. I wouldn't listen to mythical educated idiots if I were you. Lots of unicorns in all trades who rely on post hoc fallacy for their logical realism.

I can't stop thinking about these knowing it's some jank junction under or in the walls of my house. Btw I'm an electrician myself. Been doing it for 10 years. This is my breaking point lmao. I think its time to bust out the tracer and toner. One circuit's home run is 10 feet away from the panel just on the other side of the marriage wall. I've been stumped many times before but not on my own shit.

    Brake caliper grease as possible easily available substitute? It's silicone based and high temp.

    I've been working for a large (non-RV) trailer dealership for the last three years. The level of quality I have experienced from new units of most makes has opened my eyes to how low the bar is set. I also am waiting to take delivery of a new 2023 Gulf Stream model nearly identical to yours. Thank you for your videos on your experience. It has shown me what I can expect from what I will probably receive.

    E85 near me is about $0.90 cheaper than gas, and is about 5 mile detour from my daily commute. I still take that route every day because gas rose to around $5.19 where I lived in 2022; and it stayed that high because there were people willing to pay that much. It’s not just about efficiency and being environmentally conscious, but it’s a statement that big oil tycoons shouldn’t be able to dictate our livelihoods on raising gas prices. I will use e85 as much as I can. But if we are talking about cost, it’s about equal to gas in my situation.

      @@pearlrival3124 it is funny that you said shut off eco because I was wondering how much that added wear to the transmission. It seems that eco mode really lugs and bogs down the transmission.

    I ordered a $300 converter by phone from Coan Racing 20 yrs ago and answered all their questions and expected a 10” 3500 stall but got an 11” 26-2800 that’s as useless today as it was then so I know it happens.the converter works but I haven’t checked it with a matching cam but with my set up it drove like grandma’s car

    I bought a brand new Hughes- Towing converter and had the same problem, and Hughes is supposedly one of the best you can get. Around 35-45 on a hill it would shutter when going up a hill, when it needed the power without a load on truck. The stator on these converters is the problem, and finding a welded in unit like factory is very difficult and mine was a regular Th 350 turbo from 1979-4X4 model truck. Only a heavy duty converter has the welded in turbines, so there is no flexing or slippage. The only HD welded in one comes factory or from B&M and then your taking a risk it's really HD and welded inside, as they all look the same, and size. Will be putting the factory converter back in before trying anything else. A 4X4 with transfer case is a monster to put in and out, it's like lifting 2 trans hooked together in one. So even spending alot of money on the best built is no guarantee, it lasted 1 year.

      That is horrible. I really want to keep this truck forever but I can't find a definitive answer on where to get a reliable transmission.

    Hey, I’m having an issue to where when I plug in anything into any plug in my house, the lights dim and flicker heavily. Sometimes causes power to go out rapidly. We found a short in the bedroom and ran all new wire. I thought it was fixed. I started remolding and started using a saw and all of the sudden my lights started doing it again. What could I look for breaker. Note : Breaker is new and good Outlets are good
